'Going Red' in Support of Heart Month

At Graham's Toronto office, they were 'seeing red' for an entire day - and all for a great cause. Across North America, February is designated as 'heart month,' with the Heart & Stroke Foundation Canada and the American Heart Association jointly raising awareness of heart disease.

Employees made contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, wore red clothes, and enjoyed a heart-healthy build-your-own-sandwich, complete with whole wheat bread, lean turkey and chicken, veggies and fruits for lunch.

"Heart disease has probably touched all of us here in some way or form," says Mike Suljak, General Manager, Toronto. "Today's luncheon gave us a great opportunity to do good, enjoy ourselves and be informed."

Every year, tens of thousands of people across North America put their hearts into making a difference to the lives of others by participating in the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the American Heart Association's largest grassroots initiative - Heart Month. Whether it's time or money, funds raised during Heart Month help to support vital life-saving research.

"We all want to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Today was just one step in the overall process," says Suljak.
